  • Prerequisites
    This course shall have no formal pre-requisite. Delegates that are not able to swim will be given special attention and instruction as necessary.

Course Information

  • Additional Schedule Details
    Start / Finish Times: Training courses will begin at 7:30 am and should conclude by 4:30 pm; it is recommended that delegates arrive at 7:00 am.

    Breaks: 10 minutes (approximately every hour)
    Lunch: 1 Hour (if applicable)

    Meals / Refreshments: Delegates will be provided with a 1-hour lunch break with meals provided at client’s expense. Coffee and water will be available free of charge. Periodic breaks will be offered to delegate’s during training.
  • Course duration 6-8 hours - Course length shall vary depending on the number of delegates. Total course time includes breaks and meals.
  • Course Summary

    Course Objective
    - Provide delegates with an understanding of general helicopter & boat travel safety.
    - Delegates will gain the necessary skills and knowledge to assist them with survival in an             offshore environment should an unfortunate event occur.
    - Delegates will be able to demonstrate these necessary skills during practical examination and     demonstrate knowledge during the written examination

    Class Size: The maximum number of delegates that may be trained and tested per instructor shall be sixteen (16) in the classroom session and sixteen (16) in the practical session, per pool.

    Successful Course Completion
    - Requires a minimum score of 75% or better.
    - Delegates will have no more than thirty (30) minutes to complete the exam.
    - Grades shall be calculated by dividing the number of questions answered correctly by the total number of exam questions.
    - Successful completion of practical session is mandatory.

          • Health and Safety Considerations
            Emergency response training contains physically demanding and potentially stressful elements. All personnel who participate in such training must be medically fit and capable of participating fully. All personnel will be required to complete a self-declaration of fitness form prior to the commencement of practical.

          M&A Safety Services provides comprehensive instructor-led training courses that are readily available to meet our customers’ training needs. Our training center delivers essential training courses on a daily basis which offers our customers maximum flexibility to train their employees at their convenience. Training courses can also be delivered onsite at the customers work site including domestic, international and offshore locations. 

          Our Lafayette training center is a 20,000 square foot facility located in Youngsville, Louisiana. It contains (11) multimedia classrooms, (2) indoor heated pools, a METS-5 HUET Simulator, a TEMPSC, a Hydraulic Crane, a Confined Space Simulator, a Fall Protection Simulator, and numerous Firefighting Simulators designed to simulate various types of fires.
